YOUR TAG HEUER
The analog face of your Monaco Sixty Nine has a manual rewinding mechanical movement. To keep your watch working, you should wind the spring regularly using the crown in position 1. When fully wound, the spring provides a power reserve of more than 42 hours. The digital face of the watch contains a high-quality quartz movement, exclusive to TAG Heuer, for optimal reliability and outstanding precision. It has been specially designed for timekeeping at Formula 1 events. Technical features Your new TAG Heuer Monaco Sixty Nine has the following features: scratchproof sapphire crystal on both the analog and digital faces anti-reective coating on the digital face for easy reading luminous hands on the analog face an alligator strap with folding buckle and push-button safety clasp water-resistance to 50 m
CARING FOR YOUR TAG HEUER
Like any high-quality watch, your TAG Heuer Monaco Sixty Nine requires careful maintenance. By following a few simple instructions, you can make sure your watch stays reliable and protected against everyday wear and tear: Cleaning. Regularly rinse your Monaco Sixty Nine with soap and fresh water, being careful not to allow water onto the strap.
Condensation. If the temperature changes suddenly, a slight amount of condensation may form under the crystal. This condensation will disappear by itself and will not affect your watchs operation. If the condensation remains, please consult your TAG Heuer registered dealer. Waterproong seals. Over time, your watchs waterproong seals may deteriorate. We recommend that you have its water-resistance checked once a year by your TAG Heuer registered dealer, who will replace the seals if required. Straps. Our crocodile straps are very delicate. You should be particularly careful to avoid exposing the strap to water. The crocodile leather comes exclusively from farm animals and its origin is guaranteed by customs documents. Anti-reective coating. The digital face of your Monaco Sixty Nine has an anti-reective coating to make it easier to read. This thin layer can be damaged through impact or careless handling. Under normal conditions of use, this coating will give you complete satisfaction. Mechanical movement. The mechanical movement of the analog face must be rewound manually. Otherwise, the power reserve will run down and your watch will stop. You should wind the movement manually using the crown in position 1. Caution: Never force the crown once the movement has been fully wound. The mechanical movement winding mechanism requires special care: to ensure that it remains accurate, TAG Heuer recommends that you have it serviced every two years. Battery. The quartz movement of the digital face contains a lithium battery which should last between two and three years depending on how frequently its various functions are used (particularly the alarms and backlight). When the battery is nearly dead, the letters BT start ashing in the bottom right-hand corner of the display. The battery should then be replaced immediately by your TAG Heuer dealer.
THE FLIP-OVER SYSTEM
The ip-over system of your TAG Heuer Monaco Sixty Nine has been designed to make it as simple as possible to turn the dial over while your chronograph is on the wrist. 1. Hold the sides of the watch (at the push buttons) between your thumb and index nger (g. 1). 2. Pull the watch vertically upwards until it reaches the stop. At this point there is enough room to pivot the watch on its supports. While pulling up the watch, be sure to keep the dial horizontal (g. 2). 3. Rotate the watch through 180, holding its sides between your thumb and index nger (gs. 3 and 4). 4. Push the watch down vertically until you hear it click into place between the supports minibearings. While pushing the watch back down, be sure to keep the dial horizontal (g. 5). 7

SETTING THE TIME ON THE ANALOG FACE
The crown has 2 positions (g. 7). Position 1: manually rewinding the movement In this position, you can rewind the mechanical movement by rapidly rotating the crown. Position 2: quickly setting the time To adjust the time, pull the crown out to position 2 and rotate it in the desired direction. Remember to always push the crown back into position 1 once the time has been set. Broken shaft Caution: The mechanical movement of your Monaco Sixty Nine has a special shaft that links it to the crown through a tube. This broken shaft is made up of two parts: a male section, which ts into the movement a female section, which is attached to the crown If you pull the crown out too abruptly when setting the time quickly, the shaft may come away from the movement. If this happens, simply reinsert the shaft into the tube, pushing it in carefully with your thumb while turning the crown slightly so that it gently connects with the male section of the movement. To check that the shaft has been properly reinserted, try setting the time. If you are not certain, we recommend that you take the watch to your nearest authorized dealer.
DISPLAY MODES ON THE DIGITAL FACE
The digital display of your Monaco Sixty Nine has six different modes: > T1 mode: > AL mode: > F1 mode: > BEST LP mode: > Ch mode: > T2 mode: Main time and date Alarm F1 timekeeping Best lap (LP = LAP) for consulting lap times stored in the memory Chronograph Second time zone 9
OVERVIEW OF THE BUTTONS
Your Monaco Sixty Nine has four push buttons: A, B, C and D (g. 8). Their functions differ depending on the mode selected and the way they are pressed. There are two ways of pushing the buttons: short (less than 2 seconds) or long (more than 2 seconds) Caution: water-resistance cannot be guaranteed if the buttons are pressed under water.
MODE DETAILS AND BUTTON FUNCTIONS
T1 mode Main time (hours-minutes-seconds) and date (day of the month, day of the week) are shown. T1 appears for three seconds, followed by AL if the alarm has been set (g. 9). By default, T1 is shown as a 24-hour clock. If the 12-hour clock is selected, this is indicated in the center-right of the display (g. 10). In T1 mode, the button functions are: A B C D D short push = activates standby mode (screen goes blank)* = no function. = activates the backlight for six seconds. short push = selects the next mode long push = selected mode can be set. g. 10 g. 9
Hours Minutes Seconds
In AL mode, the button functions are: A A B C D D long push = alarm is set or unset beep means that the alarm is set long push = alarm test sound is set = activates the backlight for six seconds short push = selects the next mode long push = selected mode can be set
AM/PM mode
T1 mode Day of the week Day of the month
The alarm sounds for one minute and can be stopped by pressing either button C or button D in any mode. F1 mode This shows elapsed time in minutes, seconds and 1/1000 ths of a second plus the main time during timekeeping. F1 is displayed (g. 13) for 3 seconds, followed by the number of the lap being timed. g. 13
*Note: simply push one of the four buttons to bring the watch out of standby mode. AL mode Main time and alarm time are shown. AL appears (g. 11) for three seconds, followed by the status of the alarm (ONOFF). The alarm time is shown as a 12-hour (AM/PM) or 24-hour clock, depending on which is selected for the main time. If the 12-hour clock (AM/PM) is shown, this refers to the time for which the alarm is set (g. 12).
D B This mode can be used to time several laps (80 laps max.) of an event (a Formula 1 race, for example). The times F1 mode Main time recorded for each lap are stored in the watchs memory and can be viewed later in BEST LP (Best Lap) mode. The timing of a lap can be interrupted and the timing operation restarted without information about the previous laps being lost. Hundredths and thousandths of seconds are only shown for the duration of each lap and for the total time. They are replaced by dashes when the digits refer to the time currently being measured. In F1 mode, the button functions are as follows:
Alarm mode
A = starts the timing of current and subsequent laps (previous lap time is stored in the memory) starts the timing again after a pause B short push = stops the timing without storing the last lap time in the memory*. This operation shows the total timing (TOT). B long push = resets the time elapsed to zero once the chronometer has been stopped C = activates the backlight for six seconds
D = selects the next mode, without interrupting the timing. *Note: the time elapsed between button A being pushed for the last time and button B being pushed is not stored in memory, as indicated in the diagram below. Therefore, to time one lap only, button A should be pressed to start, then A again to store the result in the memory and then B to stop timing. g. 14
Note: the memory has a maximum capacity of 80 laps. When the memory is full, the timings of laps 1 to 79 are kept and each new lap is stored in position 80, thereby erasing the time of the previous lap. Total time The total time is shown at the top in minutes, seconds and thousandths of a second. The number of hours appears in the bottom left unless the total time is less than one hour (a dash appears if it is more than 10 hours). The total number of laps is displayed in the bottom right-hand corner (g. 16).

the lap time is shown at the top (minutes-secondsthousandths of a second) main time in the bottom left-hand corner lap number in the bottom right-hand corner (01) The time is always shown in the bottom left-hand corner during timekeeping (g. 15). Note: the maximum elapsed time for one lap is 59 minutes 59 seconds and 999 thousandths of a second. After this point, timing stops automatically. Successive laps (lap time)
Note: Total Time is the total time of all the laps that have been stored in the memory by pressing button A for less than two seconds, even if the number is higher than 79 and not all the laps are available in the Best Lap mode. BEST LP mode
C This mode shows the memorized laps (minutes-secondsthousandths of a second). BEST LP (Best lap) appears for 3 seconds followed by the number of the best lap (g. 17). D
Best LP mode
Lap number Main time
When a new lap is begun (when button A is pushed), the display changes as follows: For approximately ve seconds, the previous lap time appears at the top of the display. During that time, the lap number in the bottom right-hand section of the display is not indexed but ashes to indicate that timekeeping has not been interrupted. After approximately ve seconds, the current lap time appears at the top of the display. The lap number in the bottom right-hand corner is indexed and no longer ashes.
Once the mode is activated, the best lap (shortest timing) is shown in minutes, seconds and thousandths of a second at the top. If several laps have the same time, only the rst one is shown as best lap. The lap times stored in the memory can then be accessed. BEST appears in the bottom left-hand section of the display. The number of the best lap is shown at the bottom right after three seconds (g. 18).
Best lap
In BEST LP mode, the button functions are: A short push = shows the next lap with the time and respective lap number, including the BEST LAP time A long push = subsequent laps are shown successively (g. 19) B short push = shows the previous lap with the time and respective lap number, including the BEST LAP time B long push = previous laps are shown successively C = activates the backlight for six seconds D = selects the next mode Ch mode (Chronograph mode) This mode shows time measured in hours, minutes, seconds and thousandths of a second. Ch mode is displayed (g. 20) for three seconds. It is used to conventionally measure elapsed time (up to 99 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds and 999 thousandths of a second). It enables single timing or totaling several times with automatic calculation of intermediary stops.
Ch mode also allows a total time to be measured with intermediary times (SPLIT and catch-up). A short push = START - STOP - RESTART B short push = SPLIT (intermediary time shown), catch-up B long push = resets the time elapsed to zero once the chronometer has been stopped. Example: timing the total duration of a race and displaying the individual times of each runner.
Lap number with respective timing
Note: in SPLIT mode, the display ashes. T2 mode This mode shows the main time and the time in the second time zone. T2 appears permanently. The time in the second time zone is always shown as a 24-hour clock (g. 22). In T2 mode, the button functions are: A B C D D long push = change between time zones: T1 T2 = no function = activates the backlight for six seconds short push = selects next mode long push = selected mode can be set D B
T2 mode 2nd timezone Main time
A short push = START - STOP - RESTART B long push = resets the elapsed time to zero once the chronometer has been stopped. Example: measuring the total duration of a journey from town A to town D, automatically deducting the duration of stops in towns B and C. Starting the chronograph function: g. 20 Stopping the chronograph function: g. 21
SETTING MODES
You can access the setting mode by pressing button D for more than two seconds (g. 23). In the setting mode, the button functions are: A short push = increases (+) the value to be set. A long push = continuously increases (+) the value to be set.
B short push = decreases (-) the value to be set. B long push = continuously decreases (-) the value to be set. C = changes to the next values to be set. D short push = exits the setting mode. We congratulate you on your choice of a TAG Heuer watch and thank you for your confidence in our company. Your choice brings you technical innovation, accuracy and endurance. These criteria, by which high-level sports performance is judged, have given TAG Heuer its unique position amongst Swiss watchmakers since 1860. Our dedication to measuring minute fractions of time has led to many technical patents. It has also established TAG Heuer as official timekeeper for the worlds most important sports events and as the leader in the sports watch segment. Each TAG Heuer watch has been created to meet the most exacting requirements. The materials we use guarantee the exceptional durability of our watches, even under particularly severe operating conditions. Extreme care is taken at every stage of production. Before being launched on the market, each new product undergoes more than sixty precision and quality tests. In addition, your TAG Heuer has been examined individually to verify its waterresistance and ensure that it works perfectly. The international guarantee card provided with your TAG Heuer watch is recognized by TAG Heuer Service Centers in more than 100 countries worldwide. TAG Heuers International Warranty is valid only if the serial number imprinted on the watch casing is clearly legible and no part of the original watch back, or original number has been removed, changed, altered, replaced, erased or defaced. Failure of the foregoing conditions voids all rights resulting from TAG Heuer International Warranty System. Your new TAG Heuer watch combines tradition and technical achievement. We trust it will bring you complete satisfaction.
The movement Your chronograph is equipped with a self-winding automatic movement. Each movement of your wrist activates the rotor which winds the spring and keeps your watch functioning. Completely wound up, your watch will continue to function for approx. 42 hours. Technical specifications Your new TAG Heuer chronograph combines the technical features of an authentic sports watch. Your TAG Heuer requires a certain amount of care. The following guidelines will enable you to ensure its reliability and protect its appearance over time. Cleaning. Be sure to rinse your watch regularly with fresh water and soap, especially after it has been in salt water. If you plan to wear it in water either frequently or for prolonged periods, we recommend choosing a metal bracelet, in gold, steel, or two-tone. Please remember that your watch is water-resistant only when the crown is screwed in correctly or simply pushed in for the TAG Heuer Classics models. Condensation. If the temperature changes suddenly, a slight condensation may appear under the crystal of your watch. This mist will disappear by itself and will not affect the functioning of the watch. If the condensation persists, please see your official TAG Heuer dealer. Pressure seals. Over time, the pressure seals on your watch may deteriorate. We recommend that you have the water-resistance of your watch checked once a year by your TAG Heuer dealer, who will replace the seals if necessary. Automatic movement. When a self-winding mechanical watch has not been worn for some time, it uses up its power reserve and stops. To start it again, either place the crown in position 1 and rewind it manually, or activate the rotor by making movements with your wrist. The automatic movement requires particular care. To protect its accuracy, TAG Heuer recommends that you have it serviced every two years.
Bracelets/Leather straps. Our straps are made of the finest leather, treated for superior resistance to humidity. Nevertheless, we suggest that you limit the time this material spends in water. For the upkeep of your leather strap, we recommend cleaning it with a soft, dry cotton cloth and not using any abrasive products. It is normal for its color to darken slightly with time. Crocodile straps are delicate, and you should take special care to prevent the leather getting wet. The crocodile leather comes exclusively from farm animals and its origin is certified by the customs declaration. For the upkeep of your metal bracelet, we recommend cleaning it with soap and water once a month. To avoid any risk of accidental opening, our gold, steel, and two-tone bracelets are fastened by a double security clasp.
