See Drawing A Remove the large bore breather pipe attached to the rocker cover. Remove the smaller bore pipe from the air filter system and block off the end. Release the two large clips attached to the top part of the air filter case. Release the fastener holding down the air intake pipe. The complete air filter assembly can now be lifted out. See Drawing B 9 Use a screwdriver that fits firmly into the slot and is at least as wide as the jet, (approx. 5mm), press firmly whilst unscrewing. Remove the emulsion tube with the pointed jet removal tool. Using a slimmer screwdriver, (width 5mm), press firmly and unscrew the main jet, which is located at the bottom of the hole. Remove the main jet with the jet removal tool, and fit the new main jet, size 122. Replace the emulsion tube. Make sure that the clamp area on the carburettor and the filter are free of oil or grease. Fit the filter to the carburettor, making sure that the clip is correctly located above the retaining lip. Tighten the hose clip until the filter can just be turned on the flange, then give one full turn, 360 no more. Connect the large bore breather pipe from the rocker cover to the outlet pipe on the K&N base. Filter maintenance Under normal conditions clean and reoil the filter at approx. 30000 miles/48000 km. Use only K&N cleaner and oil and follow the instructions carefully.
K&N filters are pre oiled ready to fit. The advantage's of K&N's cold air intake system Cooler air, being denser, will show positive improvements in power over filter system that draw hot air from the engine bay.
