WGPS606 Print Server Windows XP Installation A Wireless Print Server allows one or two printers to be conveniently shared across a WiFi network. Wireless print servers for home networks generally are available in both 802.11b and 802.11g varieties.
Make sure the printer work when directly connected to the computer and also check the printer drivers are installed first. Here are the steps to install the WGPS606 on Windows XP using the Smart Wizard STEP 1: Insert the CD and in the window that comes up click on Set up a Printer
STEP 2: On the Get Ready window, click on Next
STEP 3: Select Yes and click on Next.
STEP 4: Make sure the computer is connected to the print server and then click Next.
STEP 5: It will detect the Print Server

STEP 6:

If the print server is not detected then
1. Make sure the firewalls and the antivirus are disabled 2. Try with a different cables 3. Try with a different computer which is on the same network.
STEP 7: If the printer detects the print server, it gives the message Your computer is successfully connected to the Print Server.
STEP 8: It will list the connected printers to the print server.
STEP 9: Click Next to configure the wireless settings of the Print Server.
STEP 10: It will now display the available wireless networks. Select your wireless network and click on Next.
STEP 11: If security is enabled on your wireless network, you will need to configure the security settings on the WGPS606 as described below.
STEP 12: Enter the appropriate security options
STEP 13: Click on Next to save the current configuration on the print server
STEP 14: Assign an IP address that is within the range of your router. (Ex. 192.168.1.150 or 192.168.0.150 or 10.0.0.150) and type 255.255.255.0 on the Subnet field.
STEP 15: You have now successfully configured the WGPS606. Click on Next.
The Print server is now configured. To configure the print server to work on you computer, kindly go through the following steps. STEP 16: To configure the Printer we need to select Yes or we can quit & select "Set up the PC" in the beginning of the screen.
STEP 17: Now it will detect the Print Server with its IP address, select the Print Server & click on Next
STEP 18: It will list the Printer and the Port it is connected on the WGPS606, select the appropriate one & click on Next
STEP 19: It will list the drivers under the "Printer List" select the appropriate one & click on Next
STEP 20: If you don't see any thing in the "Printer List" it means that the drivers for the Printer is not installed, so we need to click on "Add Printer" & go with the Add Printer Wizard

STEP 21: Click on Next

STEP 22: Click on "Print Test Page" if you would like one, but few model number of Printers are compatible with WGPS606 but they may or may not support this "Print Test Page"
