Spend a little extra cash and get one that will last longer. I DID NOT BUY THIS THROUGH NEWEGG! as a manufacturing engineer, I can say that Panasonic definitely knows how to pack their products.

We have had this system for about 5 months and so far are extremely satisfied with it. The sound is excellent for movies, television, music, etc.... Matsushita exhibited their latest SC-HT860 home theater system, package includes: DVD drive, power amplifier, surround speakers.

I was looking for a space saving system and this one was perfect and the price was excellent. It was easy to set up - everything color coded. I purchased this product a week ago and got it set up and it sounds great. Better than I expected. Great price for the sound quality.

I think according to the price this is a best deal nice system, i think for the price you cant beat it. speaker wires are kind of short not a problem for me since my room is not that large.

love my sound box. Attractive Design, Compact, Durable, Easy To Set Up, Great Sound Quality I purchased this system as a replacement for another (under-performing) system. My only regret is that I did not first purchase this system.

Well, To be honest, Overall I am not very impressed with Panasonic this time. I went through 2 of these systems in two weeks, both which Died on me.

"This is my first home theatre purchase. I was originally looking at piecing together a system with a true dedicated receiver and some polk speakers. "Very easy to setup. Looks great and the sound is very good. My only issue is the lenght of the rear speaker wires. Way too short.

Preparation Turn off all equipment before connection and read the appropriate operating instructions. Connect the AC power supply cord after all other connections are complete. [Note] Do not use the wireless system and digital transmitter in a metal cabinet or bookshelf. Do not attempt to connect any extra surround speakers to the home theater unit. Place the wireless system within approximately 15 m (47 ft) from the home theater unit. Home theater unit (with the digital transmitter)

Wireless system

The wireless system will automatically seek a clear channel if any of these other devices interfere with its communication. When this happens, the wireless link indicator ( [W1] or an indicator) flashes on the home theater unit, and there is a brief interruption in audio coming from the surround speakers. This is the normal operation of the product working to assure the best possible performance of your home theater unit. If the interference persists, try moving the other devices to another location outside the range of the wireless system, or move the wireless system nearer to your home theater unit.

Making the wireless link

Refer also to the operating instructions for your home theater unit. When you enjoy 7.1-channel playback, refer also to Using the surround back speakers ( 10).
Turn on the wireless system.
Unit on/off button [POWER C I, B ] Use this button to turn the unit on and off. B : The unit is off. C I: The unit is on.
Turn on your home theater unit.
The wireless link indicator on your home theater unit will be turned on. The type of the indicator varies according to the home theater unit. e.g. Display on the home theater unit

Conserving power The wireless system consumes a small amount of power, even when it is off (approx. 0.2 W). To save power when the unit is not to be used for a long time, unplug it from the household AC outlet.

Setup Using the surround back speakers
By using 2 sets of SH-FX70, you can enjoy 7.1-channel playback, making the surround speakers and surround back speakers wireless ( 7). Use only the SH-TR70 digital transmitter. Wireless system is originally paired to work with the SH-TR70 digital transmitter that comes along with it. For any other accessories to work with the SH-TR70 digital transmitter in use, pairing is necessary. Preparation Make sure to connect the AC power supply cord of the additional wireless system. Turn on the home theater unit and reduce the volume. 1 Turn on the additional wireless system. 2 While pressing the skip and slow-search button (e.g. [5/9]) on the home theater unit, press the numbered button [3] on the remote control until P lights in the home theater units display. 3 While P is displayed, press [I/D SET] on the rear of the additional wireless system. The indicator on the additional system turns green. If P goes off before you press [I/D SET], repeat step 2 and then continue the procedure.
Home theater unit Pairing is necessary.

4 While pressing [5/9] on the home theater unit, press the numbered button [3] on the remote control. Wireless system e.g. After pairing Additional wireless system 5 Turn off and on the additional wireless system. Make sure the indicator on the additional wireless system lights up green. [Note] If you should change the digital transmitter, repeat the pairing steps for both units of the wireless system, one unit at a time. You cannot use the wireless system with SH-FX65T or SH-FX67T digital transmitter.
Keep the digital transmitter of the additional wireless system for later use.

1 Damage requiring serviceThe unit should be serviced by qualified service personnel if: (a) The AC power supply cord or AC adaptor has been damaged; or (b) Objects or liquids have gotten into the unit; or (c) The unit has been exposed to rain; or (d) The unit does not operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance; or (e) The unit has been dropped or the cabinet damaged. 2 ServicingDo not attempt to service the unit beyond that described in these operating instructions. Refer all other servicing to authorized servicing personnel. 3 Replacement partsWhen parts need replacing ensure the servicer uses parts specified by the manufacturer or parts that have the same characteristics as the original parts. Unauthorized substitutes may result in fire, electric shock, or other hazards. 4 Safety checkAfter repairs or service, ask the servicer to perform safety checks to confirm that the unit is in proper working condition. The servicer will require all components to service your system. Therefore, should service ever be necessary, be sure to bring the entire system.

Clean this unit with a soft, dry cloth. Never use alcohol, paint thinner or benzine to clean this unit. Before using chemically treated cloth, carefully read the instructions that came with the cloth.

Troubleshooting guide

Before requesting service, make the following checks. If you are in doubt about some of the check points, or if the solutions indicated in the table do not solve the problem, refer to Customer Services Directory (United States and Puerto Rico) on page 14 if you reside in the U.S.A. or Puerto Rico, or refer to Product information on the left if you reside in Canada.

Main unit

No power. The indicator does not turn green even though [I/D SET] is pressed and completed the pairing. Ensure the AC power supply cord is connected properly. Turn the wireless system off and then back on.

On your home theater unit
The wireless link indicator (e.g. [W1] or an indicator) is flashing. There is no link between the home theater unit and the wireless system. Turn the wireless system off and then back on. Alternatively, turn the wireless system off, disconnect the AC mains lead, and then reconnect it. Check that the home theater unit is turned on, and the wireless system is turned on. Ensure that the digital transmitter is fully inserted into the slot of the home theater unit. Ensure the surround sound setting on the home theater unit.
The wireless link indicator (e.g. [W1] or an indicator) does not light.

During the Labor warranty period there will be no charge for labor. During the Parts warranty period, there will be no charge for parts. You must carry-in or mail-in your product during the warranty period. If non-rechargeable batteries are included, they are not warranted. This warranty only applies to products purchased and serviced in the United States or Puerto Rico. This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser of a new product which was not sold as is. A purchase receipt or other proof of the original purchase date is required for warranty service.

LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS This warranty does not apply to products purchased outside Canada or to any product which has been improperly installed, subjected to usage for which the product was not designed, misused or abused, damaged during shipping, or which has been altered or repaired in any way that affects the reliability or detracts from the performance, nor does it cover any product which is used commercially. Dry cell batteries are also excluded from coverage under this warranty. This warranty is extended to the original end user purchaser only.
