Reliability Initially there was a problem with the on/off switch which caused the shutter release to operate inconsistently. Reliability Initially there was a problem with the on/off switch which caused the shutter release to operate inconsistently. The Real McCoy I own a Leica M6 rangefinder, a Nikon F-100 SLR, a Minox GT, "B" & "C" and the Leica Minilux. Overwhelmingly.

Minilux - the most expensive paper weight of all times. After being a good companion for quite it died on me with an E02 error without any warning. I went all digital few years ago and I currently use Nikon D70 and few Nikon lenses for most of my photos. Hoewever.

LEICA minilux zoom. The new highlight in the compact class. The LEICA minilux zoom is the new top model of high-quality 35 mm viewfinder cameras with permanently integrated lens. With a newly designed, powerful zoom lens, the fastest of all LEICA compact camera lenses, the LEICA VARIO-ELMAR f/3.5-6.5/35-70 mm.
With the robust yet compact and timelessly elegant titanium body of the successful winner of many awards, the LEICA minilux.
So its not only attractive, but also reliable.
With automated functions to enable easy, fast and accurate snapshots.
Putting you in the picture every time.
With extra functions for creative photography.
Allowing you to find the best perspective for all different types of subject while being pleasurably impressed time and time again by the outstanding imaging quality of a LEICA lens.
LEICA minilux zoom and LEICA CF. A unique ideal partnership harmoniously matched in design and function, and just as easy to operate together as the camera on its own.
So you can give your photos that individual touch.
With the option of permanently storing preferred functions.
So your favourite setting is always at hand.
And with the possibility of using the LEICA CF, a compact, add-on, more powerful flash unit instead of the integrated flash.
Providing optimal illumination for more distant objects and even more effective prevention of unattractive red eyes.
All in all: The best prerequisites for the best pictures in all circumstances.
LEICA minilux zoom. The versatility of the unique LEICA VARIO-ELMAR f/3.5-6.5/35-70 mm.
The LEICA minilux zoom is equipped with a newly designed, high performance zoom that can well stand comparison with the famous lenses in the LEICA R and M ranges: the LEICA VARIO-ELMAR f/3.5-6.5/35-70 mm. Its distinguishing feature is its speed of f/3.5 at 35 mm and f/6.5 at 70 mm, which is perceptibly higher than former

designs and makes it the fastest zoom lens of all LEICA compact cameras! This is the result of decades of experience gathered by Leica experts, the use of intelligent computer programs and high-quality optical glass types, as well as the application of carefully matched coating techniques. covers the whole range from the moderate wide angle to the moderate telephote lens. So you can adapt with flexibility to your subjects and convey the vastness of a landscape just as well as the expressiveness of a portrait. Its imaging properties enable an outstanding quality of photography, giving your pictures the sharp definition, rich contrast and brilliant true-to-life colour they deserve.

LEICA minilux zoom. The convenience of fully automatic photography.
Theres hardly an easier, faster and surer way to take photos than with the LEICA minilux zoom. Tanks to the fully automatic control of all functions you are always ready to shoot and one press of a button puts your picture in the can. This is what happens: The ISO speed is read in automatically and the film automatically threaded. The film is immediately wound to the next frame after each exposure. If you sustain pressure on the shutter release button, you can even document complete movements in a series of exposures. The autofocus precisely sets the optimum focus point to ensure that your subjects are sharply defined. In conjunction with the center-weighted light metering, the programmed automatic exposure mode guarantees spotaccurate and well-balanced exposure. And if theres not enough light, the builtin flash switches on by itself.
The LCD data panel of the LEICA minilux zoom keeps you informed about all the main camera functions including the battery status, various operating modes and the frame counter.

Whether you want to show white as really white or capture a unique light mood, the LEICA minilux zoom has the right solution for example with the exposure compensation facility.
Another special feature of the LEICA minilux zoom is the scope it offers you for realising your own ideas. For example, the memory feature enables you to lock the focus point and exposure on off-center subjects. Or, by focusing manually, you can set focus and exposure on completely different parts of the picture. You can react to unusually bright or dark subjects by making selective exposure compensations. To make snow really white and night really dark. You can also decide whether a mood could be captured better without a flash, or, conversely, an against-the-light face should be lit up with flashlight. Whether you leave everything to the camera or not, its viewfinder and LCD panel keep you fully informed. The realimage viewfinder is bright and distinct and shows exactly what you will find on the photograph, so its childs play to find the best zoom setting. Two LEDs

clearly indicate the focus and exposure status. And the LCD display of set functions is even automatically illuminated when it gets darker.
LEICA CF. The add-on flash unit for the LEICA minilux zoom. Small in size, big on performance and optimally matched to the camera.
The problem: a large, dimly lit room. The solution: the LEICA CF in connection with the SLOW function of the LEICA minilux zoom. The result: perfect.
The LEICA minilux zoom is the first compact camera to have both an integrated flash and an ISO flash shoe to allow the use of the flash unit LEICA CF with guide number 20. So you can optimally light up larger rooms and more distant subjects. Plus, you can prevent the unattractive redeye effect more effectively due to the greater distance between the flash reflector and the lens. The LEICA CF flash unit is the ideal partner for the LEICA minilux zoom. Besides harmonizing well with the

LEICA minilux zoom. The accessories. You can widen the application range of your LEICA minilux zoom even further with a selection of accessories. The electric cable release allows absolutely shake-free exposures. Especially when used together with the LEICA mini tripod, even long-time exposures are really sharply defined. The panorama adapter provides pictures in fascinating wide format. The elegant soft leather case protects your valuable camera. The databack is easy and quick to adapt and enables you to print the date or time on your pictures. So you can remember all the details years later. cameras size and design, it is directly integrated into the cameras automatic control when attached, including the already mentioned individual functions. So operation is just as easy as before. It also offers additional modes for use on other cameras, such as the two automatic stops with which the LEICA CF measures and controls the flash exposure itself.
